Straightening Up

I just started a complete reorganization and cleaning of much of the collection. Its really nice to handle everything once in awhile. I took a few photos and Jacob suggested throwing them on the blog, since work is currently taking up the time I would use to research and write posts. I'm a quarter of the way through the first room (takes a lot longer than I thought) and a good number of the pieces, in these photos in particular, should be recognizable from previous postings.

Bottom shelf is a circa 1930 football gauge, to assure a proper sized ball is being used for a game. The straw "boater" hat was William Church's and has an 1897 silk Princeton hat band. These shelves are part of  three adjoining four shelf units, on the same wall as the cabinet above.

A reorganized corner of the room. Top left is the panoramic photo with a young Fritz Pollard.
